Budiman Sudjatmiko, MSc, MPhil is currently member of national parliament of the Republic of Indonesia. He was elected in the 2009 election representing the Banyumas and Cilacap regencies as a parliament candidate from the Indonesian Democratic Party - Struggle (PDI Perjuangan).
In the party, he is also currently member of the party's central board and general chairman of Volunteers for Democratic Struggle, one of PDI-P's wing organizations.
He gained his masters degrees from England. His MSc in International Relations gained from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, while his MPhil in the same field of study was from the University of Cambridge.
During the Soeharto's authoritarian regime, Budiman was imprisoned with 13 years sentence. However, he was released by President Abdurrahman Wahid on 10 December 1999 with an amnesty after being jailed for 3.5 years.
He is a family man, married to Kesy Yovana with one daughter Puti Jasmina Kharisma Sudjatmiko.
